Agreement

These terms apply when you use anglertrove.com, buy a Playbook, or use River Alerts from AnglerTrove, which is operated by an independent sole proprietor based in the Philippines. By buying from us or using River Alerts you agree to them.

What you are buying

AnglerTrove sells digital products and one subscription service. Nothing is shipped to you.

• Playbooks are one-time purchases: a downloadable toolkit of files for one state. No subscription and no recurring charge.
• River Alerts is a subscription: email reports and alerts about river conditions for river sections you choose, and an account page that shows them. It is described under River Alerts below.

Who you pay

Payment is taken by Lemon Squeezy, who act as our Merchant of Record. Your payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT are handled by them, and your card statement may show their name rather than ours. AnglerTrove never receives, processes or stores your card details.

Lemon Squeezy takes every payment, including River Alerts plans and their renewals. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms apply to the payment itself, alongside these terms, which cover the product, the service and your licence to use them.

Price and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars. Playbooks are charged once. River Alerts plans are charged in advance for each month or year and renew automatically, as set out under River Alerts. Depending on where you live, tax may be added at checkout and is calculated by Lemon Squeezy.

Your licence

When you buy a Playbook we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. You may:

• Read the files on any device you own.
• Print copies for your own personal use.
• Keep your copy indefinitely.

What you may not do

• Resell, sublicense, rent or otherwise distribute the files.
• Upload them anywhere they can be publicly downloaded, or share your download link publicly.
• Reproduce substantial parts of them in your own commercial products.
• Remove or obscure any copyright or attribution notices.

Delivery

Delivery is electronic. After a successful payment you are given access to your files and sent download instructions by email. Download links are time-limited and have a use limit, so please save your files somewhere safe once you have them. If a link expires or stops working, email us and we will send you a fresh one at no cost and with no time limit on asking.

River Alerts

Your account. River Alerts uses an account signed in with a link we email you; there is no password. Keep access to your email address, because that is how you sign in.

Free trial. Your first sign-in starts a free trial of 7 days, for up to 3 river sections. No card is needed and nothing is charged when it ends: your River Alerts emails simply stop unless you choose a plan. The trial never turns into a paid plan on its own. There is one trial per person: an email address that has had a trial or a plan before does not get another.

Plans and automatic renewal. River Alerts costs $5.99 a month or $29.99 a year, plus any tax, for up to 25 river sections. Both plans include the same features. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and you are charged the plan price again, until you cancel. Before checkout opens you confirm that you agree to the automatic renewal, and we keep a record of that agreement. Lemon Squeezy shows the price and the renewal terms before you pay and emails you a receipt for every charge.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, online, from your account: “Manage billing or cancel” opens Lemon Squeezy’s billing portal, where cancelling takes one step. You can also email us and we will cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, then stops. In the same portal you can switch between the monthly and yearly plans or update your card.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, River Alerts keeps working for 3 days while Lemon Squeezy retries it, then pauses until the payment goes through or you cancel.

Price changes. A new price applies to new plans when we publish it. Your existing plan keeps its price unless we tell you otherwise: before a higher price applies to your plan, we will email you 30 days before the change (or within a different window if the law where you live requires one), with how to cancel, and you can cancel before it applies.

What River Alerts is. River Alerts reports conditions from our river-conditions data provider, which draws on public gauges, weather forecasts and agency notices. Conditions are checked about every 15 minutes, so River Alerts is not real time, and data can be late, missing or wrong. Agency closures and restrictions appear when the agency publishes them and our data provider picks them up; a river with no notice shown is not a promise that it is open. River Alerts is information to help you plan. It is not a safety assessment and not a substitute for checking the agency and the water before you fish.

Your rivers. The river sections we can offer depend on our data provider and may change. If a section you follow stops being available, your account page says so and you can choose another.

Emails. You choose which River Alerts emails you get and when, and can turn each kind off from any of them or from your account. We also tell you when your free trial is about to end and when it has ended, unless you have unsubscribed from all River Alerts emails. Receipts and billing emails come from Lemon Squeezy.

Renewal reminders. Before each yearly renewal, and once a year on a monthly plan, we email you the price, the next charge date and how to cancel. These reminders are part of your subscription, so they are sent even if you have turned River Alerts emails off; cancelling the plan stops them.

If we stop offering River Alerts. We will tell you by email first, cancel every plan so nothing renews, and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for, prorated by day.

Fair use. River Alerts is for your own fishing. Do not resell it, share an account, or use automated means to collect its data. If we believe an account does, we will email you first to explain what we saw and give you a chance to respond, unless the misuse is harming the service or other customers. If we end a plan for misuse, we tell you why and refund the unused part of the period you paid for, prorated by day.

Refunds

Our refund policy forms part of these terms.

What our products are, and what they are not

AnglerTrove products are planning and reference resources. We put real effort into making them accurate and useful, and everything in them is our own work. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced on behalf of Colorado Parks and Wildlife or any other government or land-management authority.

Specifically, our products:

• Playbooks do not include live river conditions, current flows or real-time reports of any kind. River Alerts reports conditions, but not in real time (see River Alerts).
• Are not a substitute for current fishing regulations or licence requirements.
• Do not guarantee hatches, conditions, access, or that you will catch fish.
• May become out of date after publication.

Regulations, public access, permitted methods, bag limits, seasonal closures and access fees all change, sometimes at short notice. Water levels, flows and weather change daily. Always check current information with the relevant government or land-management authority before you fish, and confirm access with the landowner or managing agency where relevant.

The products are provided on an “as is” basis, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Safety

Fly fishing involves real risk, including cold and moving water, changing weather, remote terrain and wildlife. Nothing in our products or in River Alerts is a safety assessment of any location or of conditions on a given day. You are responsible for your own safety and for judging whether conditions are safe at the time.

Links to other websites

This site links to third-party websites, including government and agency pages we cite as sources and retailers where gear can be bought. Some of those retailer links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission on a qualifying purchase at no additional cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure sets this out in full, and our editorial policy explains how recommendations are made.

We do not control those websites and we are not responsible for their content, their prices, their availability, their privacy practices or their terms. Any purchase you make from another company is a contract between you and that company, not with us. Their returns, warranty, delivery and support are theirs to provide, and questions about an order placed with a retailer need to go to that retailer rather than to us.

A link is not an endorsement of a company, and earning a commission through a public affiliate programme does not make that retailer our partner or agent, nor us theirs. Where we recommend a product, we do so on the basis stated on the page, and we do not claim to have personally tested it unless the page says we did.

Our content

All content we publish, including text, layouts, illustrations, the AnglerTrove name and logo, remains our property or that of our licensors, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.

Availability

We aim to keep the site available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw a product at any time. If we withdraw a product you have already bought, that does not affect your licence to keep using your copy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a product is limited to the amount you paid for it, or for River Alerts, the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. For a Playbook, the version that applies is the one published when you bought. For River Alerts, if we change these terms in a way that affects an active plan, we will email you before the change applies, and you can cancel before it does.
